A Town Hall with former Congressmen
David Jolly and Patrick Murphy
Why Gridlock Rules Washington
Join former Congressmen and one-time U.S. Senate rivals David Jolly (R-Belleair Bluffs) and Patrick Murphy (D-Jupiter) on Tuesday, December 5th at 7 p.m. for a live television town hall at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg, as they pull back the curtain on Washington and shine a light on the inside reasons why D.C. is in a state of chaos and dysfunction.
A continuation of their “Why Gridlock Rules Washington” town hall tour, the December 5th one-hour event will be broadcast live on Bay News 9 in Tampa Bay and News 13 in Orlando.
Touted as a “worthwhile effort to educate Floridians and build broader support for reforms that would encourage more bipartisanship and consensus-building to tackle the nation's most pressing challenges,” by the Tampa Bay Times Editorial Board, the USF St. Petersburg town hall will be moderated by News 13 anchor Holly Gregory.

The town hall is free and open to the public, but those interested in attending must RSVP through EventBrite - https://www.eventbrite.com/e/why-gridlock-rules-washington-town-hall-tour-tickets-39931432991
The event will take place in the University Student Center Ballroom at USF St. Petersburg. Parking is available on floors 2-5 of the USFSP parking garage located at 250 5th Avenue South.
"Working across the aisle was a hallmark of my two terms in Congress, and the relationships I formed with members of both parties were invaluable. I look forward to joining my former colleague as we share our perspectives on ways we must work together to improve our broken political system," said Murphy.
“Even in times of great disagreement there are ways of finding common ground, there are opportunities for bipartisan leadership to solve some of our country’s toughest issues. I’m excited and proud to join my friend on a statewide tour to discuss how this can be accomplished in today’s hyper-partisan world of politics,” Jolly added.
