Democratic Update
While we're celebrating a sweep in the St. Petersburg election, and our Pinellas County Dems certainly rose to the occasion, we cannot ignore that good Democrats from all across the state helped to make it happen. From South Florida to the Panhandle county Democratic Party organizations were jumping on the virtual phone bank for Mayor Rick Kriseman. We even had folks drive in to knock doors with us.
Now it's time for us to show the same solidarity in the Special Election for House District Seat 58 in Hillsborough County on December 19th. Vote by mail ballots are hitting mailboxes right now.
We have a great candidate in Jose Vasquez, and we need your help doing easy Get Out The Vote calls on his behalf, or walk a neighborhood.
Even just an hour or 2 can make a real difference in what looks like it will be a close election.
Contact Mike Fox at tampabaydemocracy@yahoo.com or 727-320-4502 to get connected.
Let's show solidarity with those who helped bring home victory in Pinellas on November 7, 2017.
Thanks so much for anything you can do.

Voter Registration Leader Mentors Needed
November 19, 2017
1-3 pm
Clearwater Public Library System
100 N Osceola Ave, Clearwater, Florida 33755
Would you be willing to serve as a mentor for newly trained
Voter Registration Leaders in Pinellas County?
In our focused effort to increase voter registration throughout the county, we realize we'll need many more "hands on deck" to make our goals a reality in 2018 and beyond.
That's why we are implementing a county-wide drive to recruit, train and deploy more VR Leaders.
As a mentor, you will answer any questions the new VR Leader might have. You will team up with the new leader and help them conduct their first "event". This is "the buddy system" at it's best so they can hit the ground running!
We need mentors for our November 12th class at HQ. Can you commit? If so, please let me know you'll attend this class and the number of mentees you would like to work with.
Thank you!!

Guest Speaker – Bob Lasher

Bob Lasher
External Affairs Officer
Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority
Bob joined PSTA as a community, media and government liaison in March of 2005.
He began a career as a news reporter in 1981 and worked in both radio and television until 1996. The majority of his media career was spent as a television news Anchor. Following his news career - in which he may have been the last reporter to believe that journalism, is the reporting of events without bias or political agenda - Bob spent several years in sales and as a Computer Network Administrator.
Before moving back home to Pinellas County and joining PSTA, Bob spent two years working as a public speaker and copywriter for Warm Thoughts, Inc.- an award-winning advertising and marketing firm out of Secaucus N.J.
He graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania in 1984 with - what he claims is a truly useless degree - in Political Science.
