Calling all phone bankers and everyone else!
If you haven't heard, Sarasota needs our help! Democratic candidate Margaret Good is neck and neck against Republican James Buchanan (you know, son of good ole Vern) for the Florida House District 72, Special Election on February 13th.
There is a virtual phone bank set up on the FDP's website (http://m.floridadems.org/Phonebank) and the FDP has issued a Challenge to all DEC's across the state - the DEC that makes the most calls in the next two weeks will win a grant of $750, $500 or $250 based on the size of the DEC!
We all know how important it is to win each and every race we have a chance in, and here is our first chance of 2018! If you all would share this info with your Club's, Caucuses and Districts, we can really pull together and help make this happen...step one in taking away the Republican supermajority in the Florida State house!

How to Sign Up For and Use the Virtual Phone Bank
The Good Campaign, in conjunction with FDP has established a Virtual Phone Bank using a tool called CallHub. We are asking each and every one of you to give us a few hours of your time to make phone calls and help us carry Margaret to victory!
You will need a telephone AND computer (desktop, laptop, or tablet) to make the calls and follow the script.
Step 1: Open your browser and go to fladems.org. Scroll down to the button that says “Phone Banks”. Click on that, and the screen will change to reveal a registration window for the CallHub Virtual Phone Bank application.
Step 2: The registration window will request you to enter a USERNAME you desire to use and your EMAIL ADDRESS, so the application can send you an email with instructions to complete the registration. You should also open the DROP DOWN BOX where it says “Choose Your Team”, that shows all of the participating DECs. Select PALM BEACH COUNTY DEC as the team. Click the button that says SIGN UP.Below the registration window, there are links to get information on Margaret Good as well as the use of CallHub.
Step 3: Go to your Email Inbox. You should see an email from “CallHub”. If you do not see it, please check your Spam Folder. Open the email and read the instructions. Within the instructions, there will be a long, cryptic string that is an Internet Link to the CallHub application. Click on that link, and you will be brought to the application. [NOTE: if your email provider is Yahoo.com, the cryptic string will not have a link attached to it, and you will have to copy the string and paste it into a new browser window.]
Step 4: In the new browser window, you will be at the web site “callhub.io”, and you will be asked to complete your registration by creating a PASSWORD that you can easily remember. Once you do this, your registration will be complete, and you will be presented with the calling script. If you are only registering at this time, you can close your browser – but make sure you write down your username and password so you can remember it later. If you plan to make calls right away, proceed to Step 5.
Step 5: At the top of the script, there will be a telephone number to call with a campaign code to use, to connect to CallHub’s predictive, automatic dialer. The dialer will control the call connections, and you will use your computer to record responses from the voter conversations. You should never hang up your phone until you’re ready to stop calling voters!
Step 6: Once you’re connected with the call, you will see information about the voter on the left side of the screen, next to the call script itself. Further down the left side will be the place to record the results of the call, and at the bottom of that will be two buttons: “SAVE” and “SAVE/NEXT”. If you click “SAVE”, the system will record what you reported, and no further action will occur. If you click “SAVE/NEXT”, the system will record what you reported, and the next voter will be called. So continue to use “SAVE/NEXT” until you’re ready to stop calling, and at that point, click “SAVE” and hang up the phone.
Very Important: If you leave the application and come back to it another time, you should open a browser window and go to the following internet address: app.callhub.io
Caveat 1: if your email provider is yahoo.com, the email you get from CallHub will not have an internet link associated with the long, cryptic string. You will need to copy that string and paste it into a new browser window to get to the registration completion.
Caveat 2: BOTH your USERNAME AND your PASSWORD must be entered case-sensitive (typically, only the password needs to be case-sensitive).
